Hilton Garden Inn Appleton/Kimberly

I really wanted to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt, but there were just too many bad experiences here. I don’t write many reviews - the hotel was booked for a training program. As the facilitator, I expected the room to be set up and ready for me to come in and set up my training. The room was far from set up - there were still dirty dishes and food from the day before. The staff was far from professional, or informed about our event and kept pointing fingers at each other. Things finally smoothed out by day 2, but the room was freezing - and in 20 degree weather. We were told nothing could be done and instructed to turn up the heat, which we had already done. The internet kept cutting in and out, but no reason given. My specific room was overlooked two days in a row for cleaning and coffee service set ups. I said something the second day and I was informed that because I left a personal item of clothing on the bed, they were not allowed to touch it. That doesn’t explain why my bathroom was not cleaned and fresh towels delivered. Again, a little lying, finger pointing and looking at me like I was the biggest pain in the butt ever!! I don’t know - I don’t think my expectations were out of line!!! I would not recommend this hotel.

There was an incident in the kitchen while we were in our conference. We could smell the smoke but there were no fire alarms going off. When the fireman took out 2 clothes baskets with smoke rolling out of them it seemed odd that no alarm ever sounded. Other wise its a beautiful hotel.
