I heard about this place from a friend when I used to live in the area. A few months ago, I apoted a dog from Madaac and they require you to bring the dog in for a check up afterwards. I was told your first visit here was free, so I called to make an appointment. I talked to the receptionist on the phone for about 15 minutes. I told her I had just adopted my dog, Lilly and I needed a check up. I explained that she had been having diarrhea since I brought her home so we could just get it checked out and make sure it was normal. (She had just been spayed and vaccinated and they said it may happen). I asked them about the free first visit and the woman told me that I was correct, and took the rest of my information. So I took Lilly to her appointment and checked in. The receptionist asked if it was our first time, and I told her yes. We again talked about the "complimentary visit" and Lilly's issues with diarrhea since I brought her home. We met the vet, who was great, and again explained that although I have other pets and usually go to a different vet, they were close to my home and I was drawn in by the free first visit. We talked about how it was a nice offer to get pets aquainted and accustomed to their new vet. At the end of the appointment, we went to ring up her roughly $20 diarrhea medication just in case it didnt stop on its own, and they told me I owed almost $80! I asked why it would be so much if I was already told the price of the medication. They said it included the charge for the visit. I asked about the "free first visit" and the receptionist told me that because Lilly had a "problem" they had to charge me for the visit. I told them that I had talked to THREE different people about this before I went through with the appointment and told each of them the details and not one of them said that if I mentioned that Lilly had been having diarrhea then I would have to pay for the visit itself. At least not until the visit was over and I already owed the money. The vet and the assistant came out and they all looked at each other and shrugged and kinda mumbled sorry. I paid the $80 and left. I definitely won't be returning. I'm giving two stars because the vet was fantastic, but no amount of kindness is going to give back the $50 I shouldn't have spent. And wouldn't have spent if I had decided to just travel to my normal vet. If you're a new patient here, I would suggest getting something in writing before you actually check in.
