Honestly I'm not sure where to start, so I guess I will start from the beginning. I started my siding and window project planning months in advance to get pricing squared away. I got my windows sized and siding quantity figured out and quotes made by one of Zuerns sales guy. A couple months later I was ready to place my order, but I did want to make one change to my original quote. I wanted to upgrade my hardware finish, so i called the same sales guy and placed my order. I gave him my credit card over the phone and 4 weeks later the windows arrived at my stainers shop. He stained them up and delivered them the next weekend. Thats when I discovered that I was missing a couple windows. So I reviewed my quotes in closer detail and figured out that when he changed the hardware finshed he didn't bring the right quantities of windows over to the new quote. So not only was a 300 dollar price increase for the upgraded hardware it was also short about 1000 dollars worth of windows. So I owned up to missing his mistake and called him and told him what happened. I told him I needed another two windows just like the ones I already had. 4 weeks went by again and they arrived at my stainer. I then checked with my stainer to find that the order was wrong yet again. The Zurens sales guy ordered 1 window correctly and the second was only half right. I say half because the second window consisted of two window units mulled together at the factory and I only had half. At this point I'm 9 weeks from my original order and I have 1" blue foam insulating board covering two holes in my wall where windows are supposed to be. I then drove to Zurens and spoke with the sales guy that I had been dealing with and told him the situation. He then told me that the errors were my fault and that he would be happy to order me another window. He claimed this was due to a breakdown of communication and that I should have been more clear about what I needed. I don't understand at all how when I explained the quantities were messed up and I needed duplicates of two windows and I don't get duplicates how that is my fault. Oh and by the way I still have not recieved an order invoice for the second order. How am I supposed to check his work and verify if I don't get any documentation from him about what he is ordering? At this point I was pretty irrate and got to talk with one of the Zuern brothers that own the establishment. I was then told he would check on costs and call me with what he could do. In the meantime i checked pricing from another retailer, when I recieved a call I was told the price would be 40 dollars cheaper than what the other retailer would sell it to me for and he offered me a Zuerns winter coat. Maybe I'm way off base but the last thing I want is a Zuerns coat to advertise their business. I bought the last window from them but overall this was the worst experience I could have ever dreamed. By the way its 5 months later and I still haven't recieved a coat. I have no intention of ever going to Zuern's again and I will go out of my way to tell my story to people that are planning on doing business at Zuern's.
