Good food, but what a dismal set of service standards. My family of four and my parents (aged 80+) arrived for our 5:30 reservation a few minutes late and were seated by 5:37. - we had waited outside for a valet for several minutes before my wife and 2 teenage sons entered the restaurant to see if there actually was a valet (answer: yes, but he's busy),
- my sons had carefully escorted my father and mother from the car to the restaurant to help them through the door.
- we had been told brusquely by a waiter to "hurry up" because it was cold outside. As if an explanation was needed, my wife had to explain that we understood that, what with the snow storm, and that my sons were helping their grandparents in. They're 84 years old for pete's sake!!!!
Of course, then we noticed everything the server did to get us out the door, like being served with no time between the salad and dinner plates; like offering dessert as my mother was still eating and then giving dessert menus to only 2 of the 6 people at the table; like bringing our coats out as we were still finishing up.
Honestly, what a buzz kill. When your kids don't know if they should order salad because they are afraid of taking too much time, you know there's a problem. Given the 18% required tip on a party of 6, I guess the restaurant got a pretty good deal.
