Although XPO's customer service, for the most part, is friendly and responsive, and the driver I dealt with is fantastic, the company is incapable of using smaller trucks or splitting loads for residential deliveries during times of road weight restrictions. If this was made clear when I paid for the shipment to be delivered to my home, I could have used a different company. Instead, I endured a week of stress and frustration trying to coordinate the receipt of this shipment since XPO was unwilling to find a reasonable solution. They did offer to store my shipment for $200/day until I came up with my own solution, or deliver the shipment nearby, which would have involved me paying the driver a $176/hr detainment fee while I drove back and forth from the delivery location to my home, using my family sedan or a borrowed truck, until all 68 individual pieces were moved. Because the driver was really nice and understood my difficult situation, he made everything work out in the end. This poor rating of XPO in no way reflects the driver's outstanding work ethic and professionalism, but I couldn't be unhappier with how XPO conducts business.
