A few years ago, my elderly father and I went on an impromptu boat ride one afternoon and ended up out a couple of hours - without cash, drinks, snacks, etc for either of us. We were enjoying a rare moment of outdoor togetherness after some pretty rough health experiences of his - and were pretty parched and sunburnt since we didn’t plan well. Wittig’s wouldn’t let us sit in the bar since it wasn’t technically open, wouldn’t let us pay with a card for food or drinks, and didn’t even offer a bottle of water to my 80 year old father. Would it have killed them to be a little kinder or lose 99 cents on a bottle of water? And we knew the family from grade school. Not sure why they were so rude but it was definitely NOT appreciated.
