They allow the students and volunteers to document their personal, even libelous, opinions of the patient and parents in the patient's record which will follow them forever. These comments are subjective and completely irrelevant to the treatment. If you decline fluoride application or request a leaded vest during X-rays, that is noted as being 'difficult,' for instance. This was one of the less harsh comments. I strongly suggest that all patients who have gone to this clinic get copies of their detailed records including the staff notes. You may be shocked and even compelled to pursue legal help.
