Sanford

Sanford is one of my absolute favorite restaurants of all time. I love the experience, the time that they take to explain things, to listen, and they're incredible attention to detail. Their food is amazing, service is amazing, you can always count on very unique quality dishes. And don't even get me started on the desserts!

Our latest experience at Sanford Restaurant was typical for this place - simply amazing. Everything from the fantastic wine list with plenty of well thought out and affordable options, to the amazing food, to the 5 star service makes it one of the absolute best restaurants we have been to. We actually ordered off the ala carte menu this past time instead of the 7 course tasting menu and we were not disappointed. The pear Roquefort torte and smoked whitefish appetizers were great, but the torte really knocked it out of the park. The pumpkin soup was velvety and smooth with a more subtle flavor than most. One of the most unique tastes I have had was the fennel broth soup - clear, flavorful and light. The Scallops were some of the best flavored Scallops we have enough had anywhere, although the lentils with it were a touch to earthy with the delicate Scallops. The Elk loin I had was one of the better dishes I've had at Sanford - tender and packed with flavor unlike any I've had before. The desserts are always impressive and they have a nice number of choices available. I can't say enough about the service as the staff at Sanford's set the standard. They are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu.
