I am not here to complain, but I am looking for ways to make progress. My 92 year old father has been ripped from his home because of debilitating old age. Yes, it happens. But he has been married to my mom for 68 years, and at 88, this is the first time she has lived alone. They are both very alert and smart. However, both are entitled to some disappointment, confusion and dismay. I spoke today with the Social Worker, Emily. I asked that my father have something to work toward, other than wasting away. I want him to live to his end with dignity and expression. So far, they have been saying that my dad gets Physical Therapy 3 times a day. The truth is, he rarely gets 10 minutes, if any therapy at all. Though staff sounds committed, I am looking for follow through. Emily and I agreed on some steps that she said she would make happen. We will see if the steps happen. My progress report will come later.
