Mike & Cathy's Good Old Days

I have lived in the area for 17 years and this was my first visit to this "supper club/bar." It is a well aged, loved local establishment. Ambiance was dark but cheerful, not too loud. The staff was friendly and curteous but they all looked like they just rolled out of bed. The owner was always running to and fro keeping guest and staff moving but never smiled or exchanged pleasantries. We were seated, served and looked after in a timely manner. The beverages were cold and food was hot. The shrimp meal was more than hearty and the prime rib my date had looked great. I asked for extra crispy fries but received "just done". They were at least not white and limp. The salad bar was average. Cheese spread and an array of crackers/ bread sticks were good. The prices seemed a bit high for the area but it was overall a good experience. We hung around at the bar, afterwards for their live music.
