Worst place ever Long story short, Im just so frustrated with my car after they did work about 4-5 years ago!!! I brought my car in because i trusted them to do a very good job as they were my go to place. My engine died about 4-5 yrs ago and so they found a used junkyard engine. Put it in. I was quoted a certain amount, went to pay my bill and it was like 1k more than they had quoted originally, then told me there was 10 hours worth of labor i wasnt billed for. I was blown away! (This is not the first time they had done this either, quoting, then bill is higher at pickup). I paid and after warranty expired come to find out not only was i ripped off. But they dropped my engine, broke the bell housing completely off, had someone come and weld it back together(pretty sure thats where the 10 extra hours came from, and pretty sure the extra bill cost was to cover that). They JB welded over the weld, then painted it black(which im pretty sure they did this to hide what happened) so they did all this because they didnt want to have to replace the engine, like a good mechanic would do. Engine was $800, IM the one paying for it, they dropped it, yet i paid for a crap engine, and crap craftsmanship. They also kept parts of mine. Oh and on top of that, they put enough stop leak in the coolant that it had to have been 10% coolant and 90% stop leak. This has caused sooo much frustration. My car refuses to blow any heat the past 3-4 years because stopleak has clogged everything! I could go on and on but that would require alot more typing. BOTTOM LINE: Avoid this place, the owner dave mcintosh rips people off and takes advantage of people who dont have enough knowledge. Tries to get people to fix things that are in working condition. There is a great place right down the road called pepin auto center that does wonderful work, i have watched them myself.
