This would have been a five star rating. Food was delicious, drinks were cheap, bar was fun and inviting. But my girlfriend left feeling awful about herself, and that negates everything else for me.
We were staying in the Best Western Hotel, which is walking distance from the bar. We planned to stay for a while and have a few drinks since we didn't have plans that night. Shortly after arriving though, the waitress misgendered my girlfriend, who is a beautiful, feminine girl and was wearing a floral scarf and had worked hard on her makeup that night.
We let this slide, assuming it might have been a slip up. But when my girlfriend paid with her credit card which still has her dead name, the waitress decided to ask a clarifying question about her dead middle name and then compare her to the waitress's husband. My girlfriend had already had a bad day as far as feeling good about her gender, and this just made things worse.
We left after 2 drinks and decided to go elsewhere. We will be warning friends about this place as well. If you care at all about respecting people and their gender identities, I would strongly suggest choosing a different establishment.
