We made a last minute trip to Hoeft's and had a good experience. The majority of visitors are seasonal stays but there are also a number of nice sites for shorter stays. We were on the peninsula with a wooded site. Most sites appear to have water and electric. The beach/swimming area is on the smaller side but our son enjoyed it. There was a beach slide into the water and a swim platform. We selected the campground to camp and rent canoes. The lake does have some areas with extremely dense weeds and lily pads but we still had a great time out on the water. The do have a bar, snack shop and game room on site but we did not use any of these amenities. Only being an hour from Milwaukee, we will certainly visit Hoeft's again!
