Originally we came to this company to replace a hard to find sized blown tire, the power steering was acting up and we were waiting for the next check to correct the issue. The original mechanic who helped with the tire noticed the issue and stated it may have been the pump. So we had the repair estimate quoted out to us so we could keep them in mind for later this month when we were going to have it corrected. Because of the mechanics friendly attitude willingness to help and the cost not being as bad as we feared we decided to have it taken care of the next day. Called them and set up an appointment for first thing in the morning. (This should have been a big clue since most of the area mechanics are booked for at least a week in advance, but they were able to get to it right away.) Showed up right as they opened as promised, then got to deal with the owner first thing in the morning bad talking his employee. Then watched as the owner told the mechanic that even if we didn't need the part to change it anyways, because they had ordered it already. (They were not sure if it was the pump, the hose, or the reservoir that was leaking at this point.) After that we asked what the price would be if they changed any of these parts since we were quoted the price of the pump itself. The owner said he didn't know, because they have to order the parts, and would call us right back when he finds the parts. Three hours pass, no phone call. So we call them again to inquire about the price, the owner says the car is almost done that the pump was difficult to install. I ask if anything else has to be done and what the price would be. He says he doesn't have that information (he's sitting 10 feet away from the car this entire time) and he will call me back when he gets it. Two hours later, again no phone call. Call them again, the receptionist says she doesn't have any of the information and will call right back when she does. And she actually calls us right back, except now the car is done and the bill is twice the price than the original estimate which states at the bottom that additional charges have to be authorized before the work is done. They also state this on the signs in their shop. I explain that it's massively more than what we were quoted and why weren't we told this when we asked about it twice earlier. She says that she needs to talk to the owner and call us back... This is an hour before they close so instead of waiting we go to the shop to address the issue head on. We explain that none of these additional things were agreed on or authorized, the owner then decides to ask my husband back to the shop to show him the issues. We never once disagreed with the mechanics opinions of what needed to be done, we were upset that it was done without first asking for permission to do the additional work. If we would have known about all of the additional work we would have not started the work at this time. We only agreed because of the original estimate that was quoted to us, power steering whereas it's a pain to drive with it acting up it was still drivable. He then started in by bad mouthing his own mechanics, saying he was going to fire them. (Which our problem was not with the mechanic just with him promising return calls prior to work and never following through okaying work without regard to our budget or permission.) Then he says screw it put all the old parts back on and get the car the hell out of my shop. We agree, and he goes off about how we know everything and he can't work with us as he walks off. Then after he comes back he explains that why the car was still not fixed is that the new part is defective and he is just going to put on the old part. Which he already said he was going to do and we agreed to. We get the car back after they put the old pieces on which only took an hour vs the 8 hours it took earlier to do. Now the car sounds even worse. The whole time the staff are apologizing to us, and expressing that this man just does this. Worst. Service. Ever. Listen to the other reviews and stay far away!
