Ryan provided excellent advice in planning. He then installed and finished 500 square feet of select hickory flooring on schedule and within budget. He flexibly worked with the unknown complications that arose in replacing carpeting in a 60-year-old home. Ryan did additional research to support our change from a standard polyurethane varnish finish to a flatter two-part oil finish.
Ryan's response to our interest in sourcing local wood flooring from a local milling supplier resulted in his recommendation to order select hickory flooring from Twin Oaks in Sinsinawa, WI. The hickory flooring we received has superior coloring and figuring to any other hickory flooring we have seen - before or since. The final finished result is outstanding.
Ryan worked with us as we determined the need to remove the loose 1/4 inch overlay, add deck screws to tighten up the sub-floor, refinish the existing mopboard before he re-installed it, and add a matching hickory floor vent at the last moment. He also made it a point to exactly match the existing ceramic tile floor level in two doorways.
Finally, Ryan left us with valuable maintenance advice and the necessary maintenance tools and materials.
