I've been a customer of BMO for over 20 years. When it was M&I Bank, it was a great bank. Once the merger happened a few years ago. BMO has consistently fallen apart. BMO is a HUGE company, even though they tout (and try) to provide personal service, they fail. Miserably. I have been on the verge of leaving for a couple of years. I have free checking, recently, I received a $12 'service fee'. No one can tell me what that's for. Call here, no answer, call there, no answer. Painful.
And if it wasn't for the ALSO VERY PAINFUL process of changing, I would have done so long ago. I HIGHLY recommend you consider another bank. Pick one locally. I've been looking at Johnson Bank for some time (my son uses them). Very helpful, smaller and customer centric. So unless you like big company corporate run-arounds, I suggest you look elsewhere...
