My three roommates and I rented through Black Teak Properties for three years while going to school at UW-Oshkosh. Our experience with our property manager, and rental facility, was bar none the best out of any of our friends. We had heard nightmare stories from friends who went through other leasing companies about maintenance never being done, ridiculous overcharges, paying too much for the quality of the housing, and taking forever to hear back from their property manager. Our property manager, Max Metz, was on top of the ball on virtually any problem that arose. I remember one time we had a leak in our apartment really late at night due to a heavy rainstorm. I called Max, and Max arrived at our house within a half hour to take a look at it. He gave us his word that we would not be responsible for the damage to the drywall, as well as the floor, due to the water damage. Three years later, when we moved out, he recalled the event...and we did not have any charges deducted from our security deposit due to "normal wear and tear". He was a prompt, attentive, and honest landlord who took each matter that we encountered over the three years as if it were his place of living. Any issue that we had, he handled in an appropriate amount of time while remaining extremely thorough.
Dollar for dollar, it was one of the best living spaces for college housing, and even relatives made remarks about how they wished they had lived at a place half as nice as ours when they were in college. The properties we lived at came with a two car garage, adequate parking for additional vehicles, had the lot plowed frequently during the winter months, and had the landscaping maintained on a consistent basis. I would highly recommend Black Teak Properties for any college student or graduate looking for a nice place to live with a positive customer service experience.
